In recent news, Xcel Energy filed a stipulation with a broad coalition of 14 diverse groups, asking the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to approve a process that could lead to $2.5 billion in clean energy investments in rural Colorado, if there is no additional cost to the company’s electricity customers.

Another recent update, is that the vast majority of Californians want local and state government to blend innovative energy and transportation technologies with sensible policies and fair distribution of clean air funds and carbon cap-and-trade auction proceeds. This is according to a recent poll of state voters.

Lastly, integration of wind energy into electrical grids is why, in 2016 wind power became the fourth largest source of electrical power in North America after natural gas, coal and nuclear. Industry reports indicate that global electricity generation from wind energy reached 60 GW in 2016.
